In 1976 Walter Krepski and Alfred Friedman opened their first joint venture with the historic restaurant "The Marble Works." Their dedication to providing quality food and service to the Ottawa-Carleton area has resulted in 12 other restaurants. The EEG of restaurants strives to not only satisfy its customers but providing a quality concept, product and service, but also aims to treat its employees with the same commitment.

As a group of restaurants the Excellent Eateries Group believes in strong community involvement. We are proud of our involvement in the community and hope that you will be too. Since 1996 the Excellent Eateries Group has raised more than $150,000 for local charities most notably:

THE YMCA/YWCA: Sales from the Excellent Eateries Coupon Book and the annual Golf Tournament raises $30,000 each year to help send underprivileged children to the YMCA/YWCA summer camps.

BON APPETIT: Various sponsors, including Excellent Eateries restaurant raise more than $80,000 for local charities each year.

The Excellent Eateries Group supports local festivals and events such as: Winterlude, The Canadian Tulip Festival, The Ottawa Bluesfest, Le Festival Franco-Ontarien and in 2001 Les Jeux de la Francophonie.
